Corrections and updates
Accuracy is a continuing responsibility. We review credible correction requests and update published work when the record changes or an error is confirmed.
How to report an error
Use our contact form and select Correction request. Include the article URL, the exact passage, why it appears incorrect, and a primary or authoritative source when available.
How we review requests
The editor checks the original sources, seeks additional documentation when needed, and distinguishes factual errors from differences of interpretation. A subject of coverage may be contacted for clarification, but no party is given control over independent editorial conclusions.
Material corrections
Errors that change the meaning, legal status, identity, amount, timeline, or central conclusion of an article are corrected promptly after verification. A visible note explains what changed and, when useful, when the correction was made.
Minor edits
Spelling, grammar, formatting, broken links, and other non-substantive issues may be fixed without a correction note when the edit does not alter the article’s meaning.
Developing stories
Articles may be updated as regulators, courts, lawmakers, or companies release new information. Substantial updates are labeled so readers can understand how the story changed.
Removal and unpublishing
We do not remove accurate reporting solely because it is inconvenient. Removal may be considered for legal obligations, serious privacy or safety concerns, duplicate publication, or content that cannot be corrected to an acceptable standard.
