The Asia Pacific Poker Tour’s Manila Main Event reached its scheduled final day at Cove Manila on Monday, bringing the PHP80,000 tournament and its PHP60 million guaranteed prize pool to the closing stage at Okada Manila.
PokerStars Live scheduled the final for noon Philippine Standard Time on August 10. The Main Event began on August 6 and used four starting flights before Day 2 on Sunday and the final day on Monday. The official public schedule confirmed the dates, buy-in and guarantee but did not display a verified final field, chip counts, payout table or winner when CasinoWire checked it.
That distinction matters for live-event reporting. The PHP60 million figure is a guarantee, not necessarily the final prize pool. CasinoWire will not infer entries, finalists or a champion from third-party posts while the official event page remains the authoritative source for the tournament’s basic terms.
The final day nevertheless gives Okada Manila a high-visibility finish to a festival that began on July 28 and carried more than PHP132 million in guarantees across its schedule.
A flagship tournament at a flagship venue
The Main Event is Event 70 on the APPT Manila schedule and the largest guaranteed tournament of the festival. Players paid PHP80,000 for a 30,000-chip starting stack, with the official schedule listing the first flights on August 6, 7 and 8. Day 2 began at noon on August 9, and the final was set for the same time on August 10.
The tournament took place at Cove Manila, the indoor beach-club and event venue within Okada Manila. That setting is part of the product. APPT is not only selling access to a poker tournament; it is packaging live poker inside one of the Philippines’ largest integrated resorts, with gaming, accommodation, dining and entertainment available around the event.
Okada Manila’s scale gives organizers room to stage a large regional festival while the resort benefits from a concentrated arrival of players and guests. The official PokerStars Live description presents the Manila stop as a destination event and lists a minimum age of 21, consistent with the property’s adult gaming environment.
What the PHP60 million guarantee signals
A guarantee transfers some participation risk from players to the organizer. If qualifying buy-ins do not reach PHP60 million after applicable fees, the operator must cover the shortfall under the tournament’s terms. If entries produce more, the final prize pool can exceed the guarantee.
For players, that makes the headline amount a minimum rather than a forecast. For the resort, it provides a marketing anchor strong enough to encourage travel decisions before the final field is known. PHP60 million is also large relative to the rest of the APPT Manila schedule: the APPT Open carried PHP15 million, while several other highlighted events offered PHP5 million or less.
The buy-in places the event above mass-participation side tournaments but below the festival’s High Roller and Super High Roller. That middle position is important because a Main Event typically draws a broader mix of professionals, qualifiers and serious recreational players than the most expensive tournaments.
Qualifiers can widen the travel funnel by giving players a route into the event at lower initial cost. The festival schedule included dedicated Main Event qualifiers, including events using “Win Your Seat” structures. Those routes help turn local poker-room traffic into participation in an international tour event.
Final-day traffic has value beyond the table
The final day reduces the number of active players, but it can increase attention. Remaining contenders bring supporters, eliminated players may stay to watch, and media or social coverage concentrates around the trophy and top payouts.
For an integrated resort, that attention can circulate through the property. Tournament visitors may use hotel rooms, restaurants, bars, retail and other entertainment during a multi-day stay. The relationship is not automatic, and the public schedule does not disclose non-poker spending, but a festival running for nearly two weeks creates more opportunities for wider resort activity than a standalone one-day event.
The location also supports international access. Okada Manila sits in Entertainment City in Parañaque, within Metro Manila’s cluster of large casino resorts and a practical distance from Ninoy Aquino International Airport. That makes the property familiar to regional gaming travelers and enables APPT to combine a local player base with visitors from elsewhere in Asia and beyond.
The Main Event therefore acts as both a poker competition and a resort-traffic instrument. Its field size will be the clearest public measure of participation once officially confirmed, while hotel occupancy, food-and-beverage spending and casino play remain private commercial metrics unless Okada Manila reports them.
A double final closes the festival
Monday’s program did not rely on the Main Event alone. The APPT High Roller also returned for its second day, with a PHP150,000 buy-in and PHP5 million guarantee. The schedule additionally offered a Last Chance High Roller Turbo and several faster closing events.
That creates a layered end to the festival. Main Event finalists remain at the center of attention, while players no longer in contention have premium and lower-cost alternatives. Keeping multiple events available on the closing day can reduce the tendency for participants to leave immediately after Main Event elimination.

This range matters because regional poker festivals compete for travel time as well as buy-ins. A full schedule allows players to build a trip around several events, and it gives the host venue multiple traffic peaks rather than relying on one tournament.
The Manila stop also sits inside a broader APPT season. PokerStars Live lists further 2026 tour activity, including another Manila championship festival later in the year. A successful August Main Event can support repeat visitation and strengthen Okada Manila’s position as a recurring live-poker destination.
The official page describes Cove Manila as the venue and says the property hosts poker under the glass dome of a major indoor beach club. That visual identity distinguishes the stop from a conventional poker room and helps market the festival as a travel experience.
Confirmation should come before result reporting
As with any live tournament, the final state can move faster than indexed web pages. A third-party result may appear before the official schedule is updated, while social posts can omit deal information, adjusted payouts or the distinction between entries and unique players.
